      The pour point of a lubricant is simply the lowest temperature at which the oil can flow under specified test conditions. The pour point is a conditioned test value and is not equal to the flow limit for actual use. However, the lower the pour point, the better the oil's low temperature performance. The higher the pour point of the oil, the poorer the oil's low temperature flow. Imagine, early in the morning in winter, the temperature is very low, if the pour point of the lubricant is too high, it will become viscous or even solidified, the engine can be difficult to start, dry friction between the parts, wear and tear increased.       What is the difference between high and low pour points?

      Low pour point lubricant, low temperature fluidity, cold can quickly reach the lubrication parts, so that the engine starts smoothly. Like the northern winter, the temperature is often minus ten degrees or even lower, low pour point oil is the car's warm clothes. High pour point, in the low temperature resistance, not only start slow, but also may damage the starter, gears and other components, maintenance costs soared!

       How to choose the right oil with the right pour point?  

       Look at the region: northern cold areas, choose the pour point of at least 10 ℃ below the local minimum temperature of the oil, such as the Northeast, you have to choose the pour point of - 35 ℃ below; the South is warmer, the requirements of the pour point is not so harsh, - 10 ℃ or so usually on the line, the pour point of the oil through the level of the oil can be seen, the 0W of the oil requires a pour point of ≤-40; 5W of the oil requires a pour point of ≤-35.
